Trophy Arrives on the South Side. . .
Jerry Reinsdorf arrived on the South Side with the World Series Trophy Thursday, I wonder if Jerry had the pilot fly over Wrigleyville if only to thumb his nose, on his way to Midway International. As the plane was touching down, I'm sure some place in Texas was freezing over. I wonder if the trophy will make a breif stop in front of the Ansonia Hotel in New York City where Claud Williams was first approched by Chick Gandil to throw the 1919 World Series.
As the 88 year drought comes to an end and "Shoeless" Joe can finally put all to rest and come out of the Corn Field, and ask "Is this Heaven?" and can be told. . . "No, It's the South Side".
